So ranils corruption doesn’t count either (bond scam,VFS etc)? Are there any corruption complaints against AKD? Im no jeppa. I was a die hard baiya 😂 but Ive came to my senses bung. Munta kade gihin apita hamba wena reddak na.

We're never going to completely eliminate corruption. Right now, stability is more important, in my opinion. I initially planned to vote for the JVP, but their recent actions have revealed them to be a group of outdated politicians with questionable judgment. The Lal Kantha drunk driving incident highlighted their lack of accountability, and Anura is one of the worst leaders. Under his leadership, the party has been steadily declining, yet he remains in charge. its all the same,

Corruption significantly contributed to the loss of what stability we had in the first place so arguing that the blatant corruption of both UNP and SLPP should be overlooked for the sake of "stability" sounds frankly idiotic

If the "worst outcome" is them being as bad as "the rest",

What are the justifications for restoring "the rest" to power in the first place?

We already know that "the rest" would be just as corrupt as they've been all along

There's no reason for them to change their corrupt ways

I believe they would be worse than Ranil and his team if given the chance to run the country at the moment. While I wouldn’t mind them having more influence, I don’t want them in charge right now. ranil is the only practical choice i see, even if jvp is pure as u claim, Running the country requires a lot more political maneuvering. These guys would likely clash with unions and bureaucrats, causing a standstill that our country cannot afford at this time.

is the country stable now than before he took over

How do you know it's his "political maneuvers" that stabilized the country if you don't know what those were?

For all we know it could be just getting deeper into debt that seemingly stabilized the country

Yeah that "somehow" is what makes me doubtful, every RW supporter claims that he is this political genius but none of them can mention one genius move he made that lead to stabilizing of the country except getting us deeper into debt

How did Sri Lanka fall into deeper debt under ranil, and were there any alternatives?

Well the thing is if RW's sole accomplishment was acquiring more debts, then we can do that even without him in power

For all we know that a party with less corruption could handle said debt more effectively than certified swindlers like RW and Rajapaksas and their merry band of crooks

Does the JVP have a plan to improve the things he mentioned?
That's a guy not representing JVP.
By the way, whoever comes to power must continue working with the IMF to survive. They've said they're going to stick with it. At this stage, it's a fact unless you have a homegrown solution like Kabraal. lol

The real issue is the corruption in the current gov also. We don't have a future without fixing it. It's quite evident how RW now protects this corrupt system. He repeatedly insists that we should adhere to the IMF's guidelines, but when questioned about the 'IMF - Governance Diagnostic Report,' he pretends to act like a deaf one. Specially, Anti-corruption reforms! Both SJB and NPP agreed to implement the recommendations.

Unfortunately, we're running out of options. On the bright side, they said they'd be accountable for their manifesto through a legal entity. That's a good thing, haven't heard anything like that from any other party.

    Yup, hope for the best!
This country needs a change with a fresh start.

We gotta give credit to RW for keeping the country stable, but let's be real, he's not the guy we thought he was. I used to be a big fan of RW, specially when he was called Mr. Clean. But, the way he dealt with the Bond scam case was just not cool at all. It's disgusting, and not acceptable at any stage.
    The only difference between MR & RW;
    මයිනා නෑයොන්ට කරා, රනිල් යාලුවොන්ට කරා!
So, handley, Don't waste your vote. :baffled:
