One member here queried me why travel to Croatia? I don;t really decide where we travel, as I don;t have time to plan these things. I am only the driver that takes the family around wherever we are. We always travel when we can and even though many do not visit these countries, there's plenty of natural beauty on offer.
Travel is not just visiting theme parks or concrete, These are no comparison to what the nature offers.
Plitvička Jezera or the Plitivice Lakes is a really a wonder. It;s the oldest and the largest National Park in Croatia, famous for its many torquoise coloured lakes separated by tufa or travertine barriers.
It's a UNESCO Heritage site and its not just a Lake but a system of lakes. Both Plitvice and Krka National Parks deserve a visit. Plitvice can be done in half a day if you start early. It's about sixteen lakes connected together. The entire park is nothing but a water feature wherever you look around. Amazing.
