I'm not trying to be Socrates, I just asked a simple question and you still haven't answered it. And if this forum is just laymen listening while pundits talk, that's a monologue, not a discussion. Nobody comes to a forum to be lectured at, they come to exchange views, which means questions are part of it, not against it

But don't you think that when someone walks in under the banner of pundit he's different from the layman? Sure the laymen discuss among themselves but with a pundit present, they expect nuggets of wisdom. To that extent, I have answered your question (with apologies to Socrates ).

Sure, a pundit brings expertise. nobody is disputing that. But 'nuggets of wisdom' don't require banning questions. Doctors, lawyers, teachers are all experts too, and none of them stop asking questions just because people expect answers from them. Asking is often how they arrive at the right answer.

And no, you still haven't answered it. you've just repeated that pundits are supposed to hand out wisdom. That's restating your original claim, not explaining what actually stops one from asking a question. Those are two different things.

"Language's beautiful, sure, but it's not a license to dodge with vibes instead of a straight answer. And yeah, I asked questions while having an opinion, that's not a contradiction, that's literally how discussion works. You ask, you listen, you push back, then you make your point. That's not 'correcting' people, that's engaging with them.
Still stands: nothing actually stops a pundit from asking questions. You still haven't named a single real reason just kept saying pundits should answer questions instead of asking questions, which isn't the same thing
