A NGO act to insult buddhism and dalada maligaawa

we heard all about this 2 elephant cubs seen..
I think this was a very bad attempt to discredit Dalada Maligawa. it's very bad influence if the Elephant Calves separated from their mothers from very young age like 2 Yrs. but did you guys noticed that a NGO behind this was screaming behind trying to score some points for them. even i was upset about this situation earlier then i could clearly see that was carried out again again trying to drag Dalada Maligawa name to discredit both the temple and the Mahasangha.​

dalada maligawa take care of the elephants like children like humans
gives food and love and care
we all remember '"RAAJA" atha
the devoted elephant who loved the dalada perahara..
this 2 cubs who were taken forcefully kiyala kiyana eka not really true..
just see how some NGO are trying to insult dalada maligawa by this incident..
these fools are silent to many killings done by porchers in the jungles (elephant killing)
but cries like dogs when 2 cubs who are 2 or 3 years old taken to the dalada maligawa
knowing they will get care and love​

All those who are responsible for bringing discredit to Buddhism by robbing two baby tuskers from Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage claiming it was to offer to Temple of the Tooth should apologize states National Bhikku Front (NBF).

Announcement issued by the NBF with the signature of its General Secretary Ven. Aththanayale Samithe Thero states:​

The shocking and outrageous incident of forcefully taking the first two baby tuskers born at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage claiming that they were taken to offer to the Temple of the Tooth is the topic of discussion in the society today. The two baby tuskers ‘Sindhu’ and ‘Raju’ are not even three years of age. According to media the two baby tuskers of suckling age were forcefully taken away from the Orphanage with the security of armed police and officers of VIP security service and are being detained to be offered to Temple of the Tooth. The people who witnessed the event and were present when the incident occurred say the two baby tuskers were abducted using an approval from the cabinet.​

It is our impression that by dragging the Temple of the Tooth, the pinnacle shrine of all Buddhists and the temples of Malwatta and Asgiriya to commit the Heinous act of grabbing babies from the mother’s lap the three supreme institutions of Buddhism in Sri Lanka have been committed for this crime. The act has been condemned and abhorred by genuine environmentalists and we too express our vehement opposition to the act.​

At present one baby tusker has lost one of its tusks and the two mother elephants are unsettled due to losing their babies. This is indeed an intended vile act. Compassion is not only for human beings; it should be for all beings. It is a tragedy for the country that those authorities involved in this incident who pretend to be great Buddhists are not aware of this. This is why these types of incidents take place in the country.​

Both these baby tuskers belong to the state orphanage. If anyone so desires, the two baby tuskers could be offered to the Temple of the Tooth and no one would object to it. If it was necessary to offer the two baby tuskers to the Temple of the Tooth the authorities could have issued a charter and then offered them when they came of age but leaving them with their mothers’ love until then. This is how dignified and diplomatic way of doing such acts. The IGP should immediately carry out an impartial inquiry as to why such a heinous act was carried out when such possibilities were available and reveal correct information to the country. If it is not possible or anyone hinders such an inquiry it would prove that the dictatorial and arbitrary act had been carried out without considering the laws of the country and being intoxicated with power.​

Hence, we emphasize that the IGP takes immediate measures to carry out an investigation into the sordid act of abducting the two baby tuskers, and torturing their mothers which has been committed using the name of the President and wielding a cabinet approval and bringing discredit to the Temple of the Tooth and the Malwatta and Asgiriya Temples.​

We also respectfully request from the two Maha Nayakas to make a statement ordering those involved in the act of abducting the two baby tuskers claiming they were to be offered to Temple of the Tooth to immediately correct the disparage and apologize for the heinous crime they committed against the Temple of the Tooth and Buddhism.​
