but machanz ehema competition ekak neththam outgoing walata Rs.20k wath gewanna wenna thibuna, competition eka nisa thama outgoing 2,2.50ta denne, but dialog and mobitel service is also superb, even dialogs hav coverage for rural areas

It is true. We can get these services very cheap. But it affects the industry so badly. These two should be balanced.

Yeah Competition help to emerge new technologies. That is the usual situation, But for telecom industry in Sri Lanka it does not suit. They always try to compete by marketing, cutting jobs and cost cutting.

As I am a person who deals with telecom industry, I know what is the quality of products of Chinese vendors like Huawei and ZTE.

person deals with telecom industry will not tell this....
sri alnkas all networks are not bad as GSM networks...
mobitel and airtel are very good HSPA networks...:yes:
but not dialog...:no::no:
and no country in the region will go for 4G before sri lanka... be happy as a sri lankan....

    This thread is totally false.
Huawei is really good. And ericsson cant match them. Thats why dialog 3G is very poor.ericsson did that. And development is very good here. This year end mobitel will be 4G with over 300mbps data speed. Friend who put this thread is telling baseless things to protect dialog...

No machan. Ericsson did only a small part of that project(they fixed small number of switches). In recent times Ericsson did only the transmission projects of Hutch and Tigo. Look at entire world. About 40% of telecommunication products in the world are Ericsson's. In case of Airtel, In India they use Ericsson. But in Sri Lanka they are totally Huawei. You might also experience bad performance of Airtel in Sri Lanka while they are best in India.

ya i read it b4..it sounds good hehe have to chnage the connection soon :P

Do you believe these things. As I am a telecommunication engineer I know this cant be achieve in Sri Lanka so recently. If they make it realistic you will have to pay about 25,000 per month for such a connection.

Mobitel has good performance(technically) in HSDPA. But look at their rates. After passing bandwidh limit they charge extra money. If somebody has gone over about 2GB, how much they have to pay?
In case of Airtel they haven't coverage even a area of a circle centered at Kandy town with a radius of 2km(In Colombo it might good).

you seems to be an engineer with out any knowledge. or may be a hora degree:lol::lol::lol:
4G is the cheapest method to give broadband....
    read this

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_(Long_Term_Evolution)

    Overview
LTE could allow data transfer rates to and from mobile devices between 15 and 100 times faster than 3G networks.
LTE provides downlink peak rates of at least 100Mbit/s, 50 Mbit/s[1] in the uplink and RAN (Radio Access Network) round-trip times of less than 10 ms. LTE supports flexible carrier bandwidths, from 1.4 MHz up to 20 MHz as well as both FDD (Frequency Division Duplexing) and TDD (Time Division Duplex).
The goals for LTE include improving spectral efficiency, lowering costs, improving services, making use of new spectrum and reformed spectrum opportunities,[1] and better integration with other open standards. The architecture that will result from this work is called EPS (Evolved Packet System) and comprises E-UTRAN (Evolved UTRAN) on the access side and EPC (Evolved Packet Core) on the core side. EPC is also known as SAE (System Architecture Evolution) and E-UTRAN is also known as LTE.
The main advantages with LTE are high throughput, low latency, plug and play, FDD and TDD in the same platform, improved end-user experience and simple architecture resulting in low operating expenditures. LTE will also support seamless passing to cell towers with older network technology such as GSM, cdmaOne, W-CDMA (UMTS), and CDMA2000.[1]

Usually because of competition only the customer gets more benefits.. if it becomes a monopoly well loose all the benefits we r gettin.. all wot u said is happenin due to the recession.. we the recession is not only for SL.. so all companies r goin thru it !!!!

There is not a recession in Sri Lanka. Although there is a recession in world it not affects much to us. If it affects Sri Lanka other industries should also be experienced that. Sri Lankans didn't stop calling due to recession. So profits should be goes to telecom companies should be remained unchanged.

man u r stupid..... how come mobitel to launch 4G end of this year????? Do you know the features of 4G or u simply thinks increasing data speed is increasing the Mobile generation??????
Go trough the spec of 4G. try to understand if possible what it's all about... Mobitel will be on 4G :P:P:P:P...Hikz..... LOL .....

in part highlighted in red you accepted than mobitel network is good...:lol:
so why telling sri lankan mobile industry is not advancing...
and part in blue you say mobitel is expensive...
but at the begining up to this you blamed mobitel for lowering the charges..:lol::lol:

then what do you want?????? cheap connection for you and expensive connections for others????:lol::lol:

all friends... post your views...about this engineer:lol::lol::lol:

    Sri Lanka
    lol

I can't agree with these facts

as I can remember Dialog is the first mobile operator who launched 3G in sri lanka. before the mobitel switch to 3.5G network dialog 3G Coverage is only covered Colombo and there rates is about 100rs per min ( as I remember) Is that the quality are you talking about ?

Don't talk about tigo , they are just doing some tricks to theire customers and making money. they even havent any 3G network yet.
