    Fans, Gamers, Visitors,

Feel free to post anything (news, screens, walls) of upcoming Hit man 5.

Hitman 5 set for 2010 release

Hitman 5 is the working title of the fifth installment in the Hitman video game series. It will be published by IO Interactive. It will be released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The release date, according to the Eidos team, is set for the end of 2010.

Reports have started to surface that IO Interactive's new Hitman game, which is currently unnamed and known only as Hitman 5, will be out next year and could arrive alongside a new Hitman film too.

Refuting some rumours however, IO Interactive has promised that the movie and the film will not overlap at all and that gamers can look forward to playing with Agent 47 as they've always known him, not as he was reimagined for Hollywood.

Released in 2007, the Hitman film starred Timothy Olyphant as the enigmatic 47 and was produced by Luc Besson. Despite being almost universally panned by critics the film has been quite successful for 20th Century Fox - grossing more than $100 million USD on a budget of just $30 million USD. Yesterday Kyle Ward was revealed as working on a script for a sequel.

IO Interactive has been keeping pretty quiet about Hitman 5, but took the chance to distance itself from the film when rumours started flying that the movie and game would tie in together.

"I can tell you that there is no way we will be basing a storyline for a new Hitman game on the story in a licensed movie," a IO Interactive community manager said in a statement to Kotaku. "That's just not how we work so you shouldn't be concerned about that."

Sounds good to us, as we're big fans of Hitman here at bit-tech.net - especially Hitman: Blood Money and, while we actually thought the film was fun in a mindless kind of way, having the game tie-in with a sequel would probably be A Bad Thing.

    Or would it?

    Thread Starter’s View :

First IOI and Eidos did a good job in creating such unique game play experience. When Hitman code name 47, hit the stores in dawn of the millennium, it was became one of the highest rated sales in the time. For bringing 47,yah, thanks. But generally last HM, Blood money wasn’t that much of ‘game’. Even a rookie can win the game due to poor performance in AI tech with the guards. Also they have deleted features such as ‘peak from a cover’ which was available in codename 47 and can’t forget the giant & complicated locations as the “mission Terminal Hospitality”, appeared on HM2: SA and finally, The cinematics and the story line linke HM : Contracts (Although, have to say Story line didn’t sucked in BM but Cinematics DID). And come on this guy is a professional, can’t he carry dead bodies than dragging them like a granny??Whatever happens, they will be on the edge with this upcoming Hitman sequel. BM was alright, but didn't live up to the expectations. K&L sucked big time. If they screw up HM5 all their credibility as an up to date quality publisher is gone for good. The whole company can go belly up if they don't succeed. It feels that Hitman is their most important franchise and effin' it up can have drastic consequences. Should they screw it, the DESERVE to go belly up. I think the most important areas that need serious improvement are

    1. SOUNDS, when we play a game we are utilizing 2 major senses, seeing and hearing. Hitman series is known to have some of the crappiest sound FX in the industry. Sounds are easily 50% of the experience, sometimes even more than that!!!
    2. PHYSICS, just get it right this time! Everyone knows what I'm talking about.
    3. AI, guards and enemy soldiers act so dumb. They have the right to have a brain!
    4. REALISM, people want it these days if you haven't noticed!! Days of 5 slugs in guts and still running are over!!! It's FRUSTRATING!! When somebody shoot the player, they ought to DIE!!!
    5. FEELING, concentrate on what made the series so popular! Forget all multiplayer experiments, driving cars & other nonsense. Concentrate delivering the true HITMAN experience!!!!
    6. CONTENT, be innovative!!!! Add new stuff, more levels, new weapons, new ways, that's what people want to see!!!!!

Also In BM, improvements on hand to hand combats, disarming an enemy was pretty cool. Hope to see that on HM 5.

Arkham Asylum dev attached to Hitman 5???

"Actor's online resume indicates Rocksteady Studios may have taken over development of new installment in IO's hired assassin franchise."

As far back as September 2007, Eidos has indicated that a new installment in IO Interactive's long-running Hitman franchise is in development. In the intervening years, Eidos has undergone significant upheaval, laying off some 25 percent of its staff in advance of being bought by Japanese publisher Square Enix. In that time, neither the publisher nor IO, its assumed developer, has said anything of the game.

And while the publisher remains mum on the project, new information on Hitman 5 appears to have surfaced today courtesy of the online resume of British actor Mark Sloan. As spotted by Joystiq, Sloan completed a round of motion capture for Hitman 5 in 2008.

Notably, Sloan lists Batman: Arkham Asylum outfit Rocksteady Studios as the game's developer, not franchise creator IO. It is unclear whether Rocksteady is solely handling development of the title or whether it is collaborating with IO. Square Enix had not responded to requests for comment on the resume listing as of press time.

Of IO's known projects, the Danish studio is working on Mini Ninjas, a new intellectual property for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, and PC. Eidos has also filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, indicating that IO may be at work on a sequel to the 2007 co-op-heavy shooter.

If they do make another movie it needs to not be game based unless they jump around in the timline like Blood Money. But besides that they need to keep game and movies seperate or they may kill the series. Can't wait for the new Hitman to come out. I'll be 1st in line for sure.
