I need step by step guidance 4 dis.
Finally it should b ended as an .exe file.

VB6 or VB.Net???
For VB.Net you need .Net frame work, if u r running on XP.

As ShanithP mentioned you need Dot Net Framework to run applications developed using VB .NET... VB6 monawath one naa

But the trade off between, VB6 has much less features than VB .NET and requires much more coding to do a simple thing than in VB .NET

In that case,wat shld i use(i mean VB6 or VB.net as u've mentioned earlier) n how to do it?? I need the steps.
n one more thng. i.e; finally i shld end it up as an .exe file,so that it is distributable.

VB .NET is the way to go!! Believe me, VB .NET and ADO together you can easily create systems like that! And you can use a Microsoft SQL database with it
