Thats why Ranil let carders to come home in government ruled areas to see their family

That taste of peace has been given to LTTE by GOSL, throughout 30+years almost every few years after heavy fights and both parties suffered heavy casualties. I'm NOT just talking about ranil here everyone including MR went to peace talks with LTTE.
There are fundamental things wrong with our society,
* they forget very often.
* they are kind hearted to even the biggest a-hole who has given them a load of pain in past.
* they *BELIEVE* in this lie called DO NOT HARM FEEL NO HARM that is not the way of nature you should be ready for anything. I think the main reason for this is the ill knowledge of Buddhism -- most of the people here believe that karma is the only thing that can affect them! -- how dumb is that?

but the sad thing is that our people believe that shit!, infact they think that they are like Buddha himself! they think that without any harm to them or to the opposing people any problem can be solved. Its like an ordinary man trying to control අංගුලිමාල! -- thru peace!
Sri Lanka had a suck ass army at the time LTTE was formed. Those who were behind LTTE understood that with a weak army and a small country it would be vulnerable to any attack thats why they THOUGHT of doing it in SL(and not doing it in Tamil Nadu)
SL how ever got a chance to come across it's dumb past for sake of this country I'd suggest all of its people to be thoroughly educated to think LOGICALLY and a THROUGH KNOWLEDGE and understanding of Buddhism -- not just for shouting "සිංහල බෞද්ධ" everywhere..then the answer to buddhists of other races can be figured out
lastly if lanka was NOT so kind/forgiving to its foes in the past prabakaran's death should have been years ago but lanka learned it the hard way
