    The Nobel Foundation

    The Nobel Foundation is a private institution established in 1900 based on the will of Alfred Nobel. The Foundation manages the assets made available through the will for the awarding of the Nobel Prize in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and Peace.

    Alfred Nobel

    Alfred Bernhard Nobel (21 October 1833-10 December 1896) was a Swedish chemist, engineer, innovator, armaments manufacturer and the inventor of dynamite.
    In his last will, he used his enormous fortune to institute the Nobel Prizes.

    Venkatraman Ramakrishnan born 1952 in Chidambaram,Tamil Nadu,India.is a structural biologist at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of the Medical Research Council located in Cambridge, England.

    Thomas Arthur Steitz (born August 23, 1940) is a Sterling Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, USA.

    Ada E. Yonath(born 1939) is an Israeli crystallographer best known for her pioneering work on the structure of ribosome. She is the current director of the Helen and Milton A. Kimmelman Center for Biomolecular Structure and Assembly of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

    Elizabeth Helen Blackburn,(born November 26, 1948) is an Australian born biological researcher at the University of California, San Francisco, who studies the telomere, a structure at the end of chromosomes that protects the chromosome. Blackburn co-discovered telomerase, the enzyme that replenishes the telomere.

    Carol Greider (born April 15, 1961) is a molecular biologist at the Johns Hopkins University. She was a co-discoverer of the enzyme telomerase in 1984 while working under Elizabeth Blackburn at the University of California, Berkeley. Greider pioneered research on the structure of telomeres, the ends of the chromosomes.

    Jack William Szostak (born November 9, 1952http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_W._Szostak#cite_note-0) is a biologist and Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and Alexander Rich Distinguished Investigator at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

    Herta Müller was born on August 17, 1953 in the German-speaking town Nitzkydorf in Banat, Romania. Her parents were members of the German-speaking minority in Romania. Her father had served in the Waffen SS during World War II.

Obama previously served as the junior United States senator from Illinois from January 2005 until he resigned after his election to the presidency in November 2008.
    Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review.
