Sarath Fonseka was in the army long before mahinda was elected presindent. He had all those CRAFTY WAR METHODS and battle plans on his head but what he lacked was the control of the army. Chandrika fuc*ed up the army real bad so that the army would be a force that protects her not the people that was her aim but after mahinda got power he knew what gen. sarath fonseka was capable of and appointed him DIRECTLY otherwise non of this would have been possible.
Actually the war ended because mahinda got power, and appointed sarath fonseka as the general. But mahinda didnt actually win it on his own he gave those who want to win it a chance and supported them to win it. As of the rules of politics now sarath fonseka seems to be not needed or rather a problem to the government. Thats why they are tring to give him the post of sec. sport's ministry.
Politics is different from true valour, politics is no where near it!
