Deepika Padukone awaits her forthcoming ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’
The 23-year-old Deepika Padukone is the brand ambassador of Fiama Di Wills and she recently launched two new soap variants of Fiama , which is also the associate sponsor of the upcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WLIFW). She also unveiled designer Sumeet Varma’s preview collection for WLIFW titled ‘The Life of a Swan-Swan lake’.
On the occasion Deepika spoke out on a variety of topics including the fact that she is eagerly awaiting the release of her forthcoming ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ where she plays a bold role.
”’Karthik Calling Karthik’ is a romantic thriller and my role is quite bold and optimistic in the film as opposite to Farhan’s which is a very pessimistic one,” Deepika told reporters adding, “It is a tough film and was a very challenging role.”
Directed by Vijay Lalwani, the film is about a man who gets phone calls from himself. It is co-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banner Excel Entertainment and Amit Chandra and Vijay Lalwani of Magic Beans.
About her Diwali plans, Deepika said: “I will be with my family.”
Deepika Padukone was last seen in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and talking about the success of the film, she said, ”I am glad that people have liked it and it is a hit. I think it’s a step towards more interesting and realistic cinema. A lot of people who have been through an experience like that have actually related to the film.”
Padukone was all praises for beau Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release ‘Wake Up Sid’. ”I think Wake Up Sid was a really sweet, funny and romantic film. Ayan (the director) has brought out the best in both the actors,” she said

Shah Rukh to host a party for Jermaine Jackson
It is a well-known fact that Shah Rukh Khan is a huge fan of Michael Jackson. He claims to have cried when he heard about the demise of the late popstar. Hence SRK has decided to ensure Jermaine Jackson (Micheal's brother) has a gala time till the time he is in town. King Khan will be hosting a party for on Wednesday, October 14 at his residence, Mannat in his honour.
A friend of SRK confirms the news. He says, “When SRK learnt that Jermaine is in town, he got in touch with him and invited him over. SRK has personally invited all his friends from the film industry.” SRK is very keen to speak to Jermaine about the late Michael.

RAB NE BANA DI JODI fame Anuksha Sharma has managed to score over Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, this time for a brand endorsement and not for a film, earlier same belonged to Deepika and now it has been grabbed by Anuksha.
Close sources said that one of the market leader hair oil brand has now been replaced Deepika by Anuksha, and she already finished the shooting for the new commercial campaign.

Deepika-Ranbir hit a rough patch
Rumors are rife that Bollywood’s young couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are not on talking terms. Deepika apparently feels that Ranbir is not serious about their relationship.
A source says, “Everyone knows that Neetu never really approved of Deepika for her son even though Ranbir tried and succeeded, to a large extent, to make his mom thaw towards his girl. The OSO girl somewhere felt that her beau wasn’t making a commitment to her, even though she was fully committed to the relationship because he was waiting for mommy’s approval.”
However another friend says,”They are together. Fights happen in every relationship. This is the eighth time that everyone’s convinced they are heading for a split. But it’s all fine. They’ve patched up”.

In a candid interview, musical maestro AR Rahman revealed that the late king of pop michael jackson wanted to work him, which unfortunately didn’t happen due to death of the pop star. Talking about MJ, Rahman said, “He’s amazing, and undoubtedly the last King of Pop. MJ called me just a couple of months before his demise, expressing an interest in working with me, but unfortunately that was not to be.”
Rahman got a new identity on international level when he received Oscar award for song ‘Jai Ho’ from Slumdog Millionaire. The award completely changed his perception in the West. On that note Rahman said, “We still have a long way to go. But this award is like an indicator — it helps me take the next big step. And if I do it right, only then will modern Indian music become a force to reckon with. So many young people in India are doing good music but most of them are trying to be someone else. You need to move into your own zone of originality. SM got the award on that strength — it had its own stamp. And Danny (Boyle) helped a great deal in achieving that quality.”
The maestro later said that the award changed his life. “What was unattainable in the West has now become possible for me. I can walk into any studio in the US with no questions asked — be it Sony or Universal — now people there know me.”
So does he now aiming for the Grammy award? “Yes. In fact SM might get it if it isn’t too late!” added Rahman.
After Oscars, Rahman got many offers from Hollywood. Even there is buzz that he is shifting to Los Angeles. So is India going to lose him for Hollywood? “I will have to balance my assignments in India and abroad. With video conferencing that’s not going to be too difficult. In fact the soundtrack for my recent film was mixed in LA and the files came through the internet. But yes, I am cutting down on my Indian assignments,” says Rahman.

Shilpa-Raj to get engaged tomorrow
Sultry actress Shilpa Shetty will get engaged to her long time boyfriend industrialist Raj Kundra tomorrow.
A source reveals,”The engagement ceremony will be a simple and private one held at Raj’s 7th floor flat in Juhu. It’s very hush-hush and only close family and friends will attend. Shilpa and her family have decided to go ahead with engagement date after much deliberation and consultation with family astrologers, including her mother Sunanda.”
Shilpa apparently was a bit reluctant to get engaged without sister Shamita, who is in Bigg Boss house, . “Shilpa was keen that Shamita too be a part of such a special event in her life but the time is extremely auspicious. Finally, she gave in to the pressure,” says the source.
Shilpa will be wearing a Manish Malhotra saree for her engagement, “The saree is simple with no embellishments like crystals or zari work, but a thin gold border. The choli is vintage and in different shades of gold with gold tassels. The saree has been deliberately kept simple as Shilpa will be wearing heavy rubies, diamonds and emeralds in ornaments designed by Anmol Jewellers,” the source adds.

Anushka Sharma made a dream debut opposite King Khan and has managed to impressed him as her co-star. Shahrukh Khan is mighty impressed with this young girl and this is what he had to say about her -
“Anushka in a certain way has helped me a lot with this film. I had to react to this girl who’s so fresh and different. So as an actor, I would say she has kept me on my toes and I think she has done a wonderful job.
I feel responsible for her career because she is starting off with me. I hope she does a fantastic job. She kept me on my toes, not just by virtue of being fresh and new, by being taller than me also.
I truly from the bottom of my heart pray for her and I hope this film does really good for her and she does some amazing amount of work, so we can feel proud that we started her career on celluloid,” said Shahrukh.
Perhaps that’s what makes SRK love his younger co-stars more!
