mmm good question.OK these are the things that spring to my mind-
1.Peace of mind(no fear of getting killed when ever I leave my house)
By the way I must say that I feel more secure than during the cease fire cause we never knew when it would end.You cant compare a temporary solution to a permanent sense of security.
2.Development
Eg-Building the port at Hambantota, building the flyovers in Nugegoda and Dehiwela
3.Economy
Look I will be the first to admit that the government has made quite a few blunders in managing the country's economy. That said I must point out that currently the world economy is in a bad way and that due to the end of the war Sri Lanka has had certain benefits like an increase in foreign investments resulting in a upturn of the stock markets etc
thanx! but wot abt the high cost of living and taxes??
we built lot of flyovers, bridges, roads, buildings etc. during the war also.
) the issue is the proper utilization of those taxes.Sadly the current administration has not been very efficient in this.we can only hope that they take steps to remedy this and show the same efficiency and vigor which brought the ethnic conflict to a satisfactory conclusion.
