    There are lot of places to buy good notebook. most famous bookshops have expensive notebooks. price depends on size, number of pages and paper quality.

    some notebooks has it's own small pen. so its compact.

    :lol::lol::lol:....that's funny buddy...but i wasn't talking abt that notebook...i'm lookin for a Notebook computer....ara laptop 1ta vada podi 1k thiyenne...:)

    har machan mata danui mathak wenne..

    machan notebooks are rarely available in SL and its expensive compared with lapi. nowdays
    laptops are famous like PCs. they are now cheap and easy to find replcements parts.

    Buy notebok if you like to use it until it's usable age without repair. if you want to use it and resell it, don't buy notebook, buy laptop. there are no secondhand market for notebook.

    laptops are very similar to PC. but notebooks are bit differance. there are some limitations when you use certain functions.

    if you are traveller, check battery life of notebook. its very important. most new notebooks has WiFi,Bluetooth etc.,
    Also check manufacturers warranty period - it must be 3 year full warranty.
    {Be carefull about warranty, otherwise, waste of money, I know the truth}

    Notebook is another word for laptop, these days the term notebook is used instead of laptop. But if you are talking about a NETbook then there is a difference. A netbook is an ultra portable low power device. Because they are using a low power consuming Intel Atom CPU, their performance is also very low.

    A standard 14.1 or 15.6 Notebook with a decent Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB or more RAM, 250GB HDD, DVD RW and an integrated graphics card will come to around Rs80,000. Before you decide on the configuration let us know how you are going to use it.

    Lenovo, HP, DELL, Toshiba, Sony, Acer, Asus are some of the well knowns notebook brands.

    NetBooks dont give performance bro, if ur just surfing the net and chatting, reading mails, its ok. But don't think its a portable of a notebook. For portable notebooks you can go for Acer Timeline or MacBook Air.

    NetBooks are available everywhere, Abans, Laptop.lk, etc.

    there are some acer, asus and hp netbooks here in lk. i think the prices vary from 50K-80K. google for sri lankan computer retailers, and browse the sites. they have the available models and the prices. is mobility important to you? if its not and you are buying it just because its cheaper, then you can try getting a notebook at about 80K... or lower. look for desktop replacement(google it...) notebooks. these are heavy and power hungry... but they have good specs with low prices. you can go for a second hand one as well. but if you do be sure to check and before you buy. take someone who knows about these things with you.

    Well, a netbook is definitely more portable and has better battery life compared to a regular full sized notebook. But it comes at the cost of performance. Intel Atom is a single core low performance CPU, even slower than an old Pentium M. But it is good enough for general computing tasks like word processing, PowerPoint presentations, internet, movies and music. One more concern is the keyboard and touchpad size, some newer netbooks with 10" screens have an ok keyboard, but those old 7" netbooks have a very tiny one. Another thing is that they don’t have an optical drive. But if you really need one you can hook up an external drive.

    Almost all major notebook manufactures (Lenovo, HP, DELL, Acer, Asus, Sony, Toshiba etc..) make netbooks. Outside Sri Lanka they cost around Rs30,000, but in SL around 50,000 (which IMO is too much for a netbook). Take a look at this site to get an idea about local Netbook and Notebook prices (netbooks are ones with Intel Atom PC)

    you get some low end netbooks which have a low battery life + much heavier than their high end models + they get really hot + have normal HDs. a 'real' netbook will have a SSD drive, it will be light and will have a long battery life. keep in mind that not every netbook on the market is like that. so not every netbook is as mobile as a real netbook should be :)
