NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa said yesterday that similar to what happened in the country in 2005; Sri Lanka would be divided between national and foreign forces in 2010.

“Under the guise of a common candidate opposition political parties are attempting to bring into power a candidate who will dance to the tune of foreign forces,” he said.

Mr. Weerawansa told the NFF Kurunegala district organization that nationalistic forces would emerge victorious even against a hundred common
candidates.

“Like at the 2005 presidential election no anti national puppets would be allowed to win. A common candidate will only help the anti national camp,” he said. “We did not look for a common candidate. The nationalist force representative will counter the agent of the foreign forces.

“Why was Sarath Fonseka not appointed army commander during the Ranil Wickremesinghe or Chandrika Kumaratunga regimes? This alone signifies the importance of nationalist forces at election campaigns,” he added.
“The next objective is to promote agriculture devoid of foreign influence. The JVP which was highly concerned about the country’s independence is today clamouring to implement European Union views. It has become a part of the conspiracy to palm the country’s power into the hands of anti national forces,” Mr. Werawansa said.
