Nearly 126,000 or 63 per cent of students have qualified to enter university, according to results of the last year’s Advanced Level examination which was announced this morning.
A total of 199,000 students sat for the A/L s last year.
The five best Z scores were secured in the different streams by Nipuna Samarakoon of Ananda College ,Colombo (maths), Maithily Sivapathsundaram of Hindu Girl’s School, Colombo -06 (science), Pasindu Namal Jayewardene of Rahula College, ( Arts) and Pasan Malinda Ketapearachchi of Mahinda College, Galle (commerce).
