JVP says their supporters attacked

A group of JVP supporters who were putting up posters in connection with their rally scheduled for Monday were allegedly assaulted by a group of government supporters at Maradana this morning, the JVP said.

The attackers had also threatened the JVP supporters and warned them against putting up any more posters saying they would be killed if they did so, the JVP said in press release.

The JVP rally is to be held at the at Hyde Park grounds under the theme” Against executive power, nepotism and greed for power.”
