Six Presidential hopefuls handed over their deposits today to run for the upcoming Presidential elections which will be held on January 26th next year, the Election Department said. The six candidates were all from recognized political parties in Sri Lanka.
The candidates who deposited the money are Sirithunga Jayasuriya from the United Socialist Party, M.B.Thaminimulla from the Okkoma Wasiyo Okkoma Rajawaru Sanwidanaya`(All are Citizens All are Kings Organization), P.A Peter Nelson from the Sri Lanka Progressive Party, Saran Manamendra from the New Sihala Urumaya Party, A. Asoka Suraweera from the National Development Front and P.D.A Liyanage from the Sri Lanka Workers Party.
