Here's the problem :
Can you come up with practical method to explain how sunrise and sunset happens to someone who has no knowledge about the Earth's rotation on its axis or Earth's orbiting of the sun ?
Imagine you are explaining this to a child.

take two balls, define one as sun and other as earth.
Let child observe when one ball goes around the other.
put a needle or a mark on the earth ball, define it as man.

that needs relativity to understand tho its how you perceive, the child thinks what he/she perceives is true. I think you should pass this question if asked, until the child knows that everything is not in the way that it seems to be lol

I'm not looking for a way out here. Just thinking how something like this can be explained to someone who doesnt know anything about it or related to it.

Ask your student to stand still looking forward. Then you walk around him. At a point he will start to see you from the corner of his eye. That is sun rise. And after sometime he will lose the site of you. That is sun set. In between is day. Is this OK...

get a ball and candle or something may be you could explain better as an actual light is throwing on on the ball alright back to gbu

set the candle in the middle of the room and go around it spining yourself aslo ..or the ball whatever how the hell do you come up with these questions man.

then lets do it other way around. This time you stay still and ask your child to spin. His sight will be like this _ you _ you. (day night day night). I think this will do the job...

yeah a wireless one is better, put it on a rather large foot ball get a bigger ball and if you can stuck up a light in it lol that's all just take the earth ball around the sun ball with the correct rotation, child will understand it child will understand relativity too
