Three persons were injured after suspected pro-government activists stoned a bus carrying UNP supporters who were returning to Colombo after attending the inaugural opposition rally in Kandy town last night.
Police and independent poll observers said the unprovoked incident took place close to the botanical gardens in Peradeniya. The private owned bus was also slightly damaged in the incident, they said.
Peradeniya police are conducting further investigations.
