Download help

Sometimes when I download software, after downloading 99.99% it stops and sends an error message. I use IDM. On other occasions ESET does not allow to complete download after 99.99%. What is the reason?
Any tips or tricks to prevent this?

I got the version 5.18 build 8 of IDM and is registered by patch. But still error messages appears for some sites
