AC=Q^2-4Q+214 *thnxx ranka for tellin me ow to type it :D
[AC is average cost]
hint: Total cost = Average cost * No.of units

    mathaka nam ne... but meke

    FC = 214 ne...

    unit 9 di AC = 269
    unit 10 di AC = 274

    TC = AC * Q

    on 9 TC = 2331
    on 10 TC = 2740

    MC = dTC/dq

    so... MC = 409 ( 9 indala 10 yanakota)...

    Peradeniya Mal Waththe...
    Well, its not econ actually but more simple algebraic maths.

    First of all, your questions presentation is wrong, but I think I can figure out what you want:

    AC = Q^2-4Q+214 @ 9 units of output, AC = 259 TC = 2331
    @ 10 units of output AC = 274 TC = 2740

    :: MC = Change in TC / Change in output = (2740-2331)/1 = 409

    Marginal cost of the 10th unit of output is 409 pounds/rupees/dollars etc.

    Oya Q kiyanne units gaana neda? And it should be marginal cost for producing the 10TH unit (10 weni unit eka) and not 10 units.

    Ehenam

    Total cost of producing 10 units = avg cost * no of units
    = (10^2-4*10+214)*10
    = 2740

    Total cost of producing 9 units = avg cost * no of units
    = (9^2-4*9+214)*9
    = 2331

    Marginal cost of producing the 10TH unit (Additional cost incurred to produce the 10th unit) = Total cost of 10 units - total cost of 9 units
    = 2740 - 2331
    = 409

    Since when did Hogwarts start teaching economics? :rofl: Is this a magical unit?
