Mother talks about child sex abuse by a monk (May 12, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) “ I send my 8 year old son to the temple and trust the monk to bring him as a good person. But see what he did , laments a mother, telling a story about child abuse by a monk. He sad story can now be seen in U-tube. Catholic church has been under severe attack in the West, for hushing up sex abuses by the Catholic priests. Even the Pope is been criticised for neglect to impose discipline on priests and failure to protect children. But in Sri Lanka such abuse goes unchallenged. This is one of the first attempts to encourage a social dialogue on this important issue.
