"The panel of experts on Sri Lanka is not required to visit the island as it is not a fact-finding or investigative body, it will advice the UN on Sri Lankan human rights issues " UN chief's spokesman Martin Nesirky said.

He responded to Sri Lankan government statement that it would not issue visas for the panel members at a media briefing. "They will decide whether they need to visit Sri Lanka or not." Martin Nesirky added.

Earlier this week, the secretary-general of United Nations appointed the three-member panel to advise him on human rights accountability issues in Sri Lanka. Later government said they will not issue visa for panel members to enter the country.

The Gov is not doing well with handling Intn'l issues, everything they do comes as a negative result for us. for example theWhite Flag statement. If the gov denied it in the first place, there wont be much trouble, yet they went to gain publicity and claimed that fonseka was a traitor for speaking War Secrets which makes the statements true.
GSP, same thing. Dunno who the Int'l advisor is... screwing up everything.
