Sick of hearing and seeing new SL songs!!

Dont take this as an offense!!...but its a fact that needs to be highlighted eventho its nothing surprising..

I'm not criticizing or praising any artist but I just dont understand why most of these SL songs are based on girls and love they just talk crap about love as if thats the way its suppose to be and how to love...BULLSHIT!!!

If you luk at these modern music videos...the main theme is always about LOVE issues or describing a girl or relationship with a girl n what not....its literally pukish!

Its so sickening having to listen to and watch these songs coz the lyrics are so damn dull, so much of effects have been put on for the voices and the music videos are so awfully done with no proper base into it..

Where is our music industry heading to!! I say there's no actual talent for most of these artists... they just want to have some quick fame and earn a few bucks just by doing a crappy album with baseless songs n make a video with cheap-skate gals.

This is not to demean our younger generations efforts or criticize their work.... IF that was the case then I wouldn't be wasting my time like this. This is to shout n say its so disappointing to see our ppl are making a sorry figure for themselves....

Dont ask me what can be done!! I'm not a music expert but I know how to and when to appreciate good music when I hear...but listen... are these two.."love and girls" the only topics to have as a base for a song??? Would be really stupid if you think that way There can be so many day to day as well as past events that can be described in a way of a song...

If you're into this industry DO A PROPER JOB by actually making an effort to do it professionally and meaningfully...thats all i'm saying...just dont get caught to that so called trend n make that an excuse all the time...

I know most would comment here by saying hey man thats the trend we cant do anything about it or even if its being highlighted or pointed out 1000 times its of no use...

Well then its so disappointing to see how our ppl will never learn....most try to keep high standards for themselves thinking they're doing a great job....well its not...the fact is none will really remember or appreciate most of these modern songs ... This so called "trend" had already damaged the quality of music but just dont continue doing it by being ignorant....

It's not that Srilankan Music is going down...
it's that some parts are not well Sponsored ...Only the New genre is so...

The Sponsors mostly we see in videos and etc are not taking any care of the valuable artists who can do a long lasting job for the Field of Music ....and what we mostly see is bullshit as you mentioned...what we are really interested is the video in those products...not the lyrics...coz it's not attractive or there's nothing to gain...

Completely true! Thatz why i don't listen to and Sinhala song except some Slow nice Songs buy Nadeeka Jayawardana and Dushantha

yes, and that is one of the reason why some artists create these kind of "loads of crap", more popularity = more money!
So, General Audiences who listen to these kind of music are also a reason for the downfall of Sri Lankan music industry.

I completely agree with you. I used to download songs from here but all the new ones these days are really stupid and meaningless. Where is the music industry heading in Sri Lanka?? ...I ask that exact question. They should start to change now or we will have to face dire consequences in the future. I feel sorry for the younger generation.
