You right ! I also ask about this issue from a uncle guy work on custom he said that if it a small package they want check it but if they have any suspicion they will, I headed some says sending as a gift is okay ! but he told me even gifts are open and search as usual.
Using courier service is bring the same issue custom also checking the packages
come through those services( DHL for sure they have a custom office on their place).

The place to go to collect the parcel is the Post office Exchange Center (not too sure on the name) which is located a bit past the SLECC.

Machan my phone came recently , it was detained by the customs but i managed to get it out with a help from a friend inside, I had to pay 1200 charges + 1000 for the friend but its worth it , ask seller to mention the phone as a gift & less value to be put any way find some one who can help u from the customs ,
