Dark Water (2005) (remake of the same title, Japanese horror film)

Eight Below (2006) (Remake of Nankyoku Monogatari, Japanese film)

The Eye (2008) (remake of the Gin Gwai(見鬼), Chinese horror film)

A Fistful of Dollars from Yojimbo

    Godzilla (1998) from Gojira (1954)

Shall We Dance? (2004) (remake of Sharu ui Dansu? (シャルウイダンス?), Japanese romance drama film)

Joint Security America (2008) (Remake of Joint Security Area (공동경비구역), South Korean film )

There are lot of other movies i don't want to put them all here

    * Special thanks for Rock for proving this info

Now my question why do these people remake these great movies. Is it for money. Is it legal. I mean do original movie makers know this. Are they allow to remake their movies. Seriously i don't like this. Now when these american people remake these movies we thinks those are original movies we don't know that there are remakes. So then lot of people think that only america is genius in making movies and they blame asian movies! In my opinion asian and other countries except america make great movies so they should not remakes.

P.S - Martin Scorsese won an oscar for his movie the departed and that movie won 4 oscars but infernal affairs didn't win any oscar.

Yeah original movies are very good. I don't even want to waste my time by watching remakes.

I don't know but recently I saw that some parts (The last part) of Doom II is a copy of MI II :)

Yeah they copy from others movies i don't like it.

Dark Water is a 2005 American drama-horror film directed by Walter Salles and starring Jennifer Connelly. The film is a remake of the 2002 Japanese film of the same name, and also stars John C. Reilly, Pete Postlethwaite, Tim Roth, Perla Haney-Jardine and Ariel Gade. The film is based on the short story Floating Water from the horror anthology Honogurai mizu no soko kara by Koji Suzuki, author of Ring (which also had an American remake).

The film was released on July 8, 2005 and grossed almost $50 million worldwide.

no idea but .. even bollywood does the same isnt it?
even srilankan movies like Magodigodi is a copy..

copying the story is not illegal or bad.. i think coz ..coz its presented in another language another version of your own.. the disition is in viewer hands..

there are a lot of copy's like that like death at a funeral etc..

the main reason Hollywood empire makes the best is there English.. its clear compared to other English used by other country's..
that's y they climb the world top-charts every time and there production costs..
