I use Imation![]()
usually good brands like Imation, Sony, TDK can be write at high speed and the other brands (ANGATE, Banana Republic) cannot write in high speed. and also u are not sure of the data been written. (this happens only if used low quality DVD's for back-up purposes)

verbatim digitalmovie is good for films.
Imation is ok just to store data.
Tdk is also good but you have to be careful because there are a lot of fakes.
If you are not sure about the type of dvds you are using you can follow these steps-
1.Download nero drive info-
http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/CD-DVD-Rip-Other-Tools/Nero-InfoTool.shtml
2.put a blank DVD into your DVD drive and start nero drive info
3.In drive info go to disk and look at manufacturer id
4.goto-
http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmediadvdridsearch=MCC%2003RG20%20
type in the manufacturer id in to the box called "Search Media Code"
choose "exact search and hit search
5.the search results will give you a list of dvd brands choose your brand and read reviews and overall score.
