is there any movie made from book that beats the book ?

(PS:- speaking of novel based movies they say LOTR is much better than the book)

In a way, yes. The old one had a plot twist at the end that was unexpected.

Very few movies. Death Race, Inglorious Bastards comes to mind. There maybe more but cant remember now.

is there any movie made from book that beats the book ?
IMHO, No. For the simple reason that a movie having a limited time frame simply cannot have all the sub plots and characters a book can contain.
2001 : A Space Odyssey is an exception as the movie and the book was made together.
However, there are some movies that comes close to the book.
The Watchmen - the most faithful adaptation I've seen. Almost page for page.
The Sum of All Fears, The English Patient, The Hunt for Red October, 300, Sin City, Air Force One, The Ten Commandments are some that I can remember for the moment.

A Team doesnt qualify as the original is TV series. Also some of the characters were not portrayed as well as in the TV series.

    Anyway
Producers dont have to follow the original , to the book always nah. Modern character behavior could be much better. And better creation is what all we need

What about considering original and modern individually. without focusing on adaption but just the greatness

    As Ex:-
For me new BBC Robin Hood(TV series) is miles beyond than the old TV series. But adaption is weak

character behavior is very tricky as it can destroy the new work.
Especially if the original work has the characters described in detail. This is true for adaptations from books.
For remakes of movies, drastically changing character behavior of well known and loved characters destroys the new remake.

Remakes by definition has very little room for individuality as its re telling a well known story.
Adaptations has a lot more room for change but if its changing every aspect of the original story, then its no longer an adaptation.

Your example of Robin Hood makes no sense. Both Series were adaptations of the legend of Robin Hood. The old series was actually a poor adaptation of the story as it was using a lot of Celtic mysticism. As for the BBC series, it is considered a very good adaptation of the legend and a realistic portrayal of the times.

A better example would be The Day of The Jackal.
The book is considered a text book in espionage as it caused very real change in the way security checks are conducted ( much like Sherlock Holmes stories changed the field of detective work). The original movie was an excellent adaptation of the book as it kept the original story intact and the high points of the story was retained and the characters portrayed accurately.
The remake (named The Jackal) only had the general plot of the story. Everything else was changed.
