Yes, it's japanese anime without the square eyes. The combination of asian and western elements is what makes this show so great

I liked the anime series
If anyone is into anime like this I recommend you watch stuff like naruto or full metal alchemist.
If you want something more serious try death note,Blood+,code geass,claymore,darker than black etc
