Nausicaa of the valley of the wind.

this movie is just WOW. dreamlike imagery, hypnotizing score, and the multi layered plot..and all the time it reminded me of the thin red line. and it's so thoughtful that it does reflect what the earth and human kind have together become.

    thanks kosandpol for the recommendation.

    Apocalypse Now
    Brilliant acting by Marlon Brando
likewise from Martin Sheen as well.
Brilliant sound editing, cinematography and good depiction of vietnam war's horrors and how it has affected the soldiers.

watch Apocalypse Now Redux version as well. Gives some insight to the history of the war and how USA went about starting it in the first place.

Glad that you enjoyed it and got its true message as well. I consider this movie to be Miyazaki's greatest work and I'm still baffled by how this one never even got an Oscar nod while Spirited Away won one.

Nolan's debut film containing an unpredictable story revolves around a writer who follows strangers ending up with an thief and eating his bait. It is played in non-chronological order as Prestige. A great movie for a low budget like 6000$.
    My IMDB Rating - 8

Hopefully you have seen his very first creation which is a short film.
If its not by any chance . Here

It seems he's fond of chain concepts which has no absolute start nor ending.
He develop the same habit on Inception as well by making ambiguous at the end of the movie tho he was using cheap trick to do so

at the second viewing, the war was the last thing this movie was about for me :P great movie.

yeah the movie had an all time valid concept of earth, nature and our reign on it. we won't survive unless we learned to get along with the common way of nature..but trying to go above it.

and did that giant warrior reminded you of nuclear weapons? and that other soldier, the one with the princess with no legs and one arm, he was effing hilarious

Most of them except Batman Series. Yet to watch Memonto though.:)

It's quite unusual in the "Following" that we can see some kinda resemblances of Nolan's later films like Inception's thief Cobb's name and the Batman sign in one of rooms door.

Aguirre, the wrath of god...funny we were talking about Apocalypse now, cos this movie has a lot of similarities to it, in a different note though.
