Onna mama me sare WC ekata team wala chances gana Review ekak haduwa kattiya kiyawala hondanan cmnt ekak danna amathaka karanna epa

SRI LANKA.

Top order looks strong but the middle order doesn't seem to have the glamour of the 96 middle order. But 2 talented allrounders in Mathews and Perera have the ability of changing any game on it's head.Bowling looks good and economical but doesn't seem to have the spice.A top contender for the cup.

INDIA

Lot will be depending on their batting.Batsman will have to fire throughout the tournament otherwise the game will easily slip away from them.Their bowling neither looks dangerous no economical,Mainly depend on Zaheer and Harbhajan. But in their home soil and on flat tracks they also will go in as a favourite for the cup

AUSTRALIA

Days when teams feared australia are long gone. The batting looks meek without the likes of Gilchrist and Hayden duo at the top && out of form ponting.their bowling has also lost it's sheen from the past & this time the cup looks a bit out of reach from them.

SOUTH AFRICA

Got a powerfull bowling line up combined with an excellent batting line up,But their previous wc outings are quiet forgettable & in flat tracks their pacemen and spinners who are adopted to fast bouncy tracks will find it hard to make a great impact. But still if they fire they'l be hard to stop from going all the way

England

Showed great potential by winning the Ashes.Has a good batting line-up but a bit on the slow side,They'll require players like pieterson and Morgan to score quick runs.Again like with S.A they'll find the sub continent pitches different from their backyard.but their tall pacemen in Finn,Anderson,Tremlett & broad might be able to extract something out on the flat tracks. They'll be arriving at the wc with a strong team for the 1 st time since 92

Pakistan

Bad luck seems to be following them, with all the match fixing and players mysteriously dissapearing. But finaly they saw a silver lining within the dark clouds when they defeated New-zealand in a Test match. Some capable youngster like Shehzad and Rehmann came through the ranks to show their talent in the international arena.Like Always Pakistan is unpredictable has it wouldn't be a suprise if they make it to the ultimate goal

New Zealand

Kiwi cricket is going through a transitional period... Lot will depend on experience guys like Styris,Mccullum, &Taylor to bat well and they'll also require Vettori's all round performances.Chris Martin did well against India & also youngster Kane williamson..But they are famous for choking in pressure situation. It'll require both talent together with a good game plan to overcome the Quarter final barrier

West Indies

Chris Gayle will need to get them off to a good start, with Sarwan and Chandrapaul stabilizing the middle & Bravo together with pollard to finish it off.If this Batters fail it'l be really hard for the inexperienced bowling line up to defend modest scores on Asian pitches..They are in doubt of not making even the semis as the dark horses Bangladesh are in the same group with them

Bangladesh

The dark horses who proved their capabilities by defeating India in the Caribbean. They'll be even strong in their home conditions & dnt be surprised if they knock some big names off during this WC. They'll require the skilled but unsung players in the squad to fire under the captaincy of the exceptionally capable all rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

Netherlands

Only a few people knows that the Dutch batsman Ryan Ten Doeschate has the highest international ODI batting average over all the other stars. They stunned England on the home soil during the T20 WC but 50 over cricket will be a different scenario. By looking at their previous achievements itl be highly optimistic to suggest they'd even win a single game!

Zimbabwe
ODI victory over a secondary indian team during the micromax cup will boost their moral but it will take some doing to repeat such performances during the WC against the top nations...But the grace of Taylor,Mazakadza ,the unorthodox batting of Taibu and Chickumbura together with the world class spin bowling of Ray price might be able to bag some victories during the 2011 WC.who knows maybe even a quarter final appearance.

Ireland

Stunned Pakistan to knock them out of the last WC... this time under the captaincy of William Porterfield. And talented players like the O'Brian's & Rankin might cause some challenge to the Test playing nations!.

Kenya

Known for causing upsets and u cant tell when the African nation may topple a big name.Aging stars in Tikalo and Odoyo will have to make their experience count to survive this time around, But a repeat of the 2003 WC is unlikely.

Canada.

the initial 30 man squad for Canada consisted of 13 players of asian origin.Including the Sri lankan young talent Ruvindu Gunasekara who opened the innings for Baduraliya during the domestic tournament.Canda is another team who haven't been able to make their presence felt at the World cup arena.

"Bowling looks good and economical but doesn't seem to have the spice."

Can't agree with this. With Malinga n Murali we have the enough spice to trouble the batsmen.

Australia are like wounded tiger ATM, SO don't be surprised if they come strong at the WC and clinch the trophy. Last time before the WC, they were in a 5 match losing streak and everybody wrote them off yet they won the tournament unbeaten.

FYI - Zimbabwe beat full-strength WI team last year, not the second string Indians.

My four semi-finalists are India, Sri Lanka, Australia & West Indies.

    Good thread. Rep added.:)

About SL yeah but i think randiv and Vaas should've been in it..

Those day aussies had great players like Mcgrath, hayden,Gilchrist,Hogg, symons etc... But this time they go in to the tournament with an out of form ponting, so Yeah if aussies come to the semis most probably we'll be meeting them at the RPS.

Zimbabwe bt India also during the micromax cup to advane to the final with us.

according to my view Id think S.A will make it to the semis ahead of windies!

thanks for sharing ur views and Rep:)

Yeah, Randiv was a shoo-in for the world cup though he was really unfortunate to miss out.

But 2 of your aforementioned players turned themselves on in 2003 WC out of nowhere. They are Hogg and Symonds. So guess we can have somebody like Ferguson or White will turn it on this time.

SA doesn't have a spin combination to coop with the sub-continent pitches. So I don't give them a chance. Also they are known to choke under pressure.

    Welcome dude.:)

I think Ferguson will find it difficult to make the final 15.But yeah white together with someone lyk Finch might make a huge impact... But im not sure about their spin department.. Hauritz and smith aren't that good and Doherty also lost his touch after the initial fire...

Botha is ok!... and amla, AB are in good touch so i thnk they'll make the semis and choke their!
