SLT Unlimited Package HAS NO FUP!!!

I'm very disappointed. People here are talking as if they came from the moon. They don't even know what happened here.

1. SLT did implement a 20GB FUP in January of 2011. BUT it was NOT APPROVED!!!

2. People here at Elakiri.com Forum wrote to the TRC. Spoke to them etc. I also personally met the TRC officials etc.

3.TRC said on their website that SLT has only submitted a FUP request and it has not been approved!!

4. on the 22nd of February 2011 at 11.10AM, SLT removed the FUP from all affected accounts.

Please stop attacking SLT... there is still not FUP approved by TRC (Telecommunications Regulatory Commission)... If you are having a FUP.... contact the TRC www.trc.gov.lk

Also remember, its our responsibility to SHARE movies and stuff. Because there is really no point of two people downloading the SAME file... wasting international bandwidth...

are you sure??......once i asked from one of a slt manager in rathmalana SLT office.... he told me that they have nothing to do cus TRC force them to apply the FUP. But they dont like that cus they have band with to dabble the customers...
i argued with him.. finally that bugger said go and file a case in court against them....

Really, its disappointing to see unfair things happening... SLT was being totally stupid... thats management... but we have the remember SLT had to do it to keep up the 80% mark.... which is now 60% thank God!

Yes, but I'm sure its going to be reasonable speeds. However, I see Indian's who are running off the same Internet Backbone is providing True unlimited ADSL without FUP. However, there is a more of a chance that Unlimited Package prices will be increased instead of having FUP...

I heard some news that the Home Unlimited Package will be back to Rs. 2500 which is a good thing... I'm got a Suntel Boardband connection thinking its better.... Torrent speeds are 2KB/s...... SLT gives 50KB/s with FUP!! I'm no-longer using the Suntel Connection... its a sitting duck

They said the same to me. But this is old news! SLT was forced indirectly by the TRC... the TRC said to make service better... SLT didn't want to buy more bandwidth (low profits due to reduced monthly price) so they want to have FUP... it was not approved by the TRC YET.....

Bt you gotta admit that slt adsl can sometimes be crappy, cause at times the browsing speeds are hopeless.
