A small earthquake reported in the Kirinde area in the Hambantota district last night has caused damages to seven houses, the Disaster management Centre reported.
A spokesman said that the people had felt the vibration in some of the houses between 10.00 and 10.30 p.m. “In some houses glasses had broken”, he added.
He said a scientist from the Geology and Mines Survey Bureau and a member from the DMC will be traveling to the area to file a further report.
