    Guess What? The HDD has begun to fail. The machine was giving trouble booting, so I used chkdsk to scan the disk, and Voila! Bad sectors......on a HDD that has not even been used for 3 months!! I'd like to take my chances RMA'ing the HDD, but really can't waste time going back and forth to...
