It doesn't matter the religion. The distance of taking a photo depends on the camera. Religion doesn't decide how many meters. The camera does.
Distance is not an issue. When intentionally taking photos, respecting a Buddha statue means never standing with your back to the statue and never pointing your feet towards it.
