    I haven't done anything to my 9600GT u loser! I've merely overclocked it using RivaTuner, and not to extreme clocks! Just to where the games run without any problem. At idle, I even ran it underclocked (though now I know it doesn't do any good to nVidia cards in terms of temps or power...

    It's the resolution that matters. And ONLY if you have LCD. With CRTs you can always lower the resolution without getting the images blurry.

    BS! Get that P43a. I think you are buying a CPU as well? To be safe, buy something with a high multiplier. If quad core, go for Q6600, or if dual core go for E7300/7400. I don't think it will have a problem reaching FSB400. That's pretty much all you'll need to overclock to a good final clock.

    Glad it worked out fine. I wonder what actually was the problem. Maybe a speck of dust causing an instability on a converter IC causing it to hallucinate whenever current passed through it LOL
