    machan sounds like a virus or somekind of program doing that not a hardware fault. Normally in Safemod OS will not let extra programs and services to run except for needed. Try Antivirus plus adware spyware cleaner as well.

    DJAT I had similar issue after I install Vista SP1 (It was home premium though). Problem was it messed up with sound card drivers. Just check in the hardware profile for the sound card drivers it might showing it is not properly installed. Hope this might help you!!
