    yeah that's absolutely correct!;) . GPRS and later EDGE are the data transmission methods of GSM. basically GPRS,EDGE running on GSM. thats the reason why people call 2.5G for EDGE capability rather than calling it 3G. same in 3G n 3.5G.:)

    A little correction bro.... 3G is not running on GSM,TDMA etc.... it's a totally different technology. TDMA and TACS considered as 1G and there was no data transfer mechanism. GSM 2G.     something for your information. the download rate what you have mentioned is not 3G but it's EDGE download rate.:no: 3G can go up to 2Mbps. anyway ADSL2+ can go up to 12 Mbps. but in sri lankan context SLT only provides ADSL services. so the downlink obviously better than ADSL in 3G. :)

    Nope. Dialog is the only company which has license to provide Wimax services. even SLT does not have. what Mobitel has 3G or u call it 3.5G UTMS network. not wimax.
