    I've used one.. never really had any problems.. just don't do stuff that are not meant to do with a Laptop.. that's all.. besides, your acer comes with a warranty.. so why worry?

    It was there yesterday? and cannot see today? check the cables first (power and data), swap the working HDD's data cable with the new one and check the data cable! If nothing works then it sounds like a problem with the HDD!
