I would not be too sure about the numbers machan, I reckon you will get 6-7 KMPL in Sri Lankan conditions on a combines cycle. May be 9+ on Out station. You seems to be having a good taste in vehicles.
I seen have the 2000CC machan I think its a bit under porwerd. Most common here is the 2500CC mainly due to power, people do lot of towing around so the engines need to have enough power.
