    Technology behind fans is very basic. Just a motor with two windings and a small circuit. I don't know why they can't make them in Sri Lanka. Importing products like fans should be banned and only local manufacturing should be done.

    Odisha is one of the poorest states in India but historic data indicates that Sinhalese migrated to SL from Odisha long before Ashoka became emperor (biggest reason why Ashoka wanted to send arahat Mahinda to Sri Lanka). That's why they support Sinhalese.

    Every country has implemented taxes for overseas online sales now not just Sri Lanka. If I buy something from Ali or eBay US, I have to pay taxes extra. This loophole existed a very long time and made China rich. Now it's closed.

    Lard and tallow are used up for soap manufacturing and very little demand for lard as a butter/oil substitute in SL because of Muslim and Buddhist influence. Also very little production of lard (only in commercial farms).
