    No no request is need I think. They can just login into Xoom with paypal password and send money to you instantly using their credit/debit card or bank account.

    You cant use paypal balance. You need to have a us based bank account, credit or debit card. It will also ask for the us address. But for freelancers, they can ask usa buyers to pay through Xoom directly to local bank account. Since buyers can use paypal login itself, they would prefer it.
