අද ලස්සන දවසක්.....ඒත් මට ඒක බලන්න බෑ
අන්ධ පිරිමි ළමයෙක් පාර අයිනේ වාඩි වී සිටියා. ඔහු ඉදිරියෙන් පරණ තොප්පියක් තබා තිබුනු අතර ඒ තුල මිනිසුන් විසින් ආධාර ලෙස ලබා දුන් කාසි කීපයක් තිබුනා. පසෙකින් වූවේ බෝඩ් ලෑල්ලක්. එහි මෙසේ සටහන් වී තිබුනා.
"මම අන්ධයි..මට උදව් කරන්න"
පාරේ ගමන් කල මිනිසෙක් ඒ අසල නැවතී කාසි කීපයකින් අන්ධ ළමයාට ආධාර කලා. ඉන්පසු බෝඩ් ලෑල්ල අතට ගත් ඔහු එහි අනෙක්පස වචන කීපයක් සටහන් කර පාරේ මගීන්ට පෙනෙන ලෙස යලිත් තැබුවා.
ආගන්තුක මිනිසා බෝඩ් ලෑල්ලේ යමක් සටහන් කල පසු ළමයාට වැඩි වැඩියෙන් ආධාර ලැබුනා.තොප්පිය මුදල් වලින් පිරී යෑමට පටන් ගත්තා. පාරේ ගමන් කල බොහෝ මගීන් කීයක් හෝ තොප්පියට දමා යාමට අමතක කලේ නෑ.
මද වේලාවකින් ආගන්තුක මිනිසා ඔහු කල වෙනසේ ප්රථිඵල බලන්න යලිත් පැමිනියා. ඔහුගේ අඩි ශබ්දයට අනූව අන්ධ පිරිමි ළමයා ඔහුව හදුනා ගත්තා.
"ඔබද මගේ බොඩ් ලෑල්ලේ යමක් සටහන් කලේ? ඒ මොහොතේ ඉදන් මට ගොඩක් ආධාර ලැබුනා ඔබ සටහන් කලේ මොකද්ද? " අන්ධ පිරිමි ළමයා ඇහුවා.
"මම ලිව්වේ ඔබ පිලිබද ඇත්ත...කලින් බෝඩ් එකේ ලියලා තිබුනු දේම මම වෙනත් විදියකින් ලිව්වා" මිනිසා පිලිතුරු දුන්නා.
මිනිසා බෝඩ් ලෑල්ලේ ලියා තිබුනේ "අද ලස්සන දවසක්...ඒත් මට ඒක බලන්න බෑ" කියාලයි.
කලින් ලියා තිබුනු දේ සහ පසුව ලියූ දේ අතර වෙනසක් ඔබ දකිනවාද?
පලමුව ලියා තිබූ "මම අන්ධයි..මට උදව් කරන්න" කියන දෙයින් කිව්වේ පිරිමි ළමයා අන්ධයි කියලා පමනයි.
නමුත් දෙවනුව ලියූ "අද ලස්සන දවසක්...ඒත් මට ඒක බලන්න බෑ" කියන දෙයින් අනෙක් මිනිසුන්ට ඔවුන් අන්ධ නොවන නිසා ඔවුන් කොපමන වාසනාවන්තදැයි පැවසුවා. ඉතින් ඔහුට ලැබුනු ආධාර දෙගුණ තෙගුණ වීමට පුදුම විය යුතුද?

Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man, who happened to be a professional marketing man, was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were.
The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'
The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.' What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.' Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
