Well if Buddah was alive today and saw that monks behaviour he would been totally disappointed,this is what happens when religions become plain organized institutions,it looses it's real meaning and people simply look at it as an "identity".They forget to see it as a way of life to improve ones self spiritually.Instead their focus would be on external constructions,they dont mind to improve the inner constructions of the mind.

Any way this is the state of most so called "religious followers" in the world Islam Christianity Buddhism Hinduism all these religions are hijacked by ego worshipping identity seekers.

By the way I have no clue of the history of this mosque but the Muslims should have thought well before they constructed this site,since there is enough space in Sri Lanka they should have chosen a better site. Irrespective of the legality of this sites the deconstruction of it should have been done in a more civilized way.

exactly agree with what you say. if u see the image closely a guy(muslim?) is holding his hand on the head while 3 guys are taking pictures. damage has been done what will be the repercussions after these images circulate ?

Well the only thing we can sincerely hope is this incident does not cause any negative repercussions,due to the narrow nationalist mindset this country had to endure a 3 decade long civil war which brought so much hurt to all communities in this country.These images are on the internet and definitely would circulate among the international community the chances of this incident been misinterpreted are very high,western media is always good at highlighting the negative incidents of a country,so let us hope this would not cause a big damage.

I think the moderate community of Sri Lanka has the ability to look beyond the extremism of some segments of this society and would carry on their work in order to bridge the gap of misunderstandings between communities,again let us hope the actions of few extremist would not be interpreted as if its the attitude of the majority.
