@BINGU_PUTHA So creating a chip by manipulating an existing 14nm DUV (N+2) makes the chip less advanced when compared with chips designed using an EUV machine? Could you shed some light on this please?
China does not have state-of-the-art EUV lithography machines from ASML Holdings Dutch company due to US restrictions. EUV machines are used to produce 7nm or less chips.
China has old DUV machines from ASML. They are typically 57nm nodes, but they can be improved by various methods to produce 14/16 nm chips.

somehow China found a way to enhance further to produce 7nm chips. Huawei announced and called it N+1, N+2 technology a few years ago. But after fearing US involvement to disturb production, they removed that information from their website and kept silent. Now they suddenly show 7nm chips.
I think when you manipulate DUV to get 7nm, the performance may be slightly less than EUV 7nm, but for China it is a big step.

Note that the majority of chips (hundreds of items like washing machine, blender, car, coffee maker, refrigerator, color lights ) do not need 7nm process ( 28 nm is way enough), only few require 7nm or less (smartphones, computers). China mainly concentrates on mature chip productions
