Treaty is a treaty! This particular chapter was specific for the situation at that time, where there were peace treaties between many enemies of islam (mostly tribes) and the Prophet. By, those treaties, it was specified that they won't fight each other and if another enemy comes to fight, they won't join them to fight against the other party.

You asked me to define a treaty and now you forget it! Read the whole original post. Those verses are 'specific' ones applicable to that situation. People who break their treaties come to fight.

So the question is that if prophet Muhammad wanted to say don't kill those who are not in war with you, why didn't he clarify it where he mentioned that you should go and kill people who do not have a treaty with you (Chapter 9)?. What if someone starts to read Quran, comes to chapter 9, and starts killing? Was prophet not smart enough to know that he should clarify this at one place?

Secondly, this verse does not say anything about killing. It just says treat people with justice. So who decides what is justice here? Is any criteria for justice given here? It seems very clear that killing is justified in some parts of Quran.

Just taking few verses from few chapters and analyzing them does not give a clear picture of Quran's take in violence and killing, because there are so many verses that promote violence. Quran has at least 100 verses that call Muslims to war.

I know you don't want to understand the real meaning, you are trying to somehow insert your idea. Typical of people like you. Are you Buddhist?

You get some things straight.
1. Prophet did not invent what is in the Quran. He merely conveyed what is revealed to him.

2. The order of chapters in the Quran is not the order of revelation.

3. You don't understand Quran by reading the way you do (or the way you portrait here). Have to understand the Quran contextually and inter-textually.


You prove the notion that I mentioned above, saying that you try to somehow insert your idea (cunningly if possible ) here! You say about "justice" in that verse, but omit "kindness"!! Typical of you people...

Even if you begin from chapter 9, the people who are referred are clearly mentioned. No need to wait until chapter 60.

Now you have to bring other verses to"prove" your point, in the same manner, from the middle, out of context. Again, typical of you people... The former verse talks about a punishment in the Hereafter, not this world. In the latter one you mentioned, do you know who are "they"? You can't imagine the meaning! You just copy from some anti Islamic site, without at least reading the verses around it! Again typical of you... The verse is about hypocrites who make mischief in the town who don't desist. It's clearly said in the verse before that.


Islam calls for Jihad (striving). Jihad includes everything that is done to uplift Islam individually and in the society. Jihad means any action that is based on sacrifice, be it by body, soul, or wealth. It includes war against enemies who FIGHT against Muslims (This is the only thing you seem to know about Islam!). About whom DON'T fight against Muslims, the injunction it's clear.
