"And we have made the earth egg shaped".
[Al-Qur’an 79:30]
The Arabic word Dahaha means egg shaped. It also means an expanse. Dahaha is derived from Duhiya which specifically refers to the egg of an ostrich which is geospherical in shape, exactly like the shape of the earth.
Thus the Qur’an and modern established science are in perfect harmony.
even gravity is mentioned in the quran: "It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its orbit with its own motion. (The Noble Quran, 21:33)"
Expanding Universe mentioned in Quran:
Noble Verse 51:47 "And the firmament, We constructed with power and skill and verily We are expanding it."
Big Bang theory:
"Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? (The Noble Quran, 21:30)"
Moon reflects the light:
[071:016] "'And made the moon a (reflecting) light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp?
[010:005] It is He Who made the sun to be a (source of light) shining glory and the moon to be (reflecting to the) light (of beauty), and measured out stages for it; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did God create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand.
