Sri Lankan opening batsman Upul Tharanga has been tested positive for a banned drug during the concluded World Cup last Month. Tharanga was a leading run-maker for Sri Lanka during the World Cup and was reportedly dope-tested for a banned substance called prednisolone, which is used to treat asthma, after a match against New Zealand. Sri Lanka National Anti Doping Organisation (NADO) chairman Dr. Geethanjana Mendis refused to comment on the matter. “I cannot say anything on that”, he said yesterday.
