British-born financier and a member of Rothschild family, Nathaniel Rothschild arrived in Sri Lanka last week.

The 49-year old, who is popularly known as Nat, is the heir apparent to the centuries-old European banking dynasty and the only son of Jacob Rothschild, the 4th Baron Rothschild.

Nat, who is based in Switzerland, is the Executive Chairman and the largest shareholder of UK-listed Volex PLC, a global integrated manufacturing company.

Really, did you take it that way?

Well, he may have compared us to many other developed nations, seeing that we have taken many steps to combat the epidemic as a still developing country. Of course, some may immature efforts like "Dum Hatti, Mutti and Pani"

Having said about immature effort, I heard 49/39 (not sure exact figure) powerful nations have been taking up all the vaccines that have made so far and left none to other countries, it was said by WHO head, which means, even though we depend heavily on those nations but they will come to us when the race is ended after they care their own. So we better give it a try in a professional manner (not like this though) despite the method that used.

Many countries did get ready... For eg Israel paid deposits on the vaccine before the trial results. You can't blame them. They have think tanks to analyse the situation and plan appropriate action. We are blessed with imbeciles with no plans.
Have we done any ground work, other than what's WHO might offer us. Which idiot tries to run pandemic control with the army. The armed forces are quite useful for logistical support. Sure. But pandemic control should be done by people who know something about the subject.

Also Hutti, Mutti, Pani is used as a smokescreen. Have you heard about the "Parkinson's Law of Triviality"? - where people spend more time & focus on something silly or trivial that they do understand than something complicated that they don’t. :(

"Parkinson's Law of Triviality" never heard before, but just read, thanks.

about that military assistant, do you think it should limit only to logistical support? please read these

Remember, we are not a rich country like Israel but our government gave Rs.5000/= for everybody who needs it at that time some get more than that also government up and run many quarantine centers for free of charge but these things did not happen in Israel though but this

"Thousands of Israelis have once again taken to the streets to protest the government's handling of the pandemic."

however, Israel way ahead than SL in terms of getting vaccinated that credit should go to them likewise every country has pros and cons

But I totally agreed with you on this we could have done way better than this

I didn't really mean only transport in using the term logistics. Should have said logistics and execution really. Forces are mobilised even in disaster situations. But you don't seek advice from them. A team of other professionals direct them. But the current trend is to use ex-army personnel everywhere - from pandemic control to civilian administration. Bloody stupid idea. They all will end up being just "Post Turtles"
