The lady known as madam ‘G’ who operated a luxury brothel at a leading shopping mall in Colombo was remanded till next March by the Colombo High Court today.
Appearing on her behalf in Court today four leading lawyers including Rupavahini Chairman Sarath Kongahage appealed for bail but the Court rejected it and placed her on remand.
She was arrested and produced in Court today just days after her brothel was raided by a special police team and at least five prostitutes including two from Uzbekistan were arrested.
The brothel located on the 7th and 8th floors of the shopping mall, was patronized by politicians, VIPs and executives for several years and continued to operate despite it being raided on numerous occasions earlier as well.
Following the recent raid on the brothel the police found hidden rooms with luxury beds, foreign liquor and other expensive items. (News Now.lk)
